Our people

People are always surprised to learn we work with a core of only five people. Through the use of freelancers and contractors, our business remains nimble, competitive and adaptable in contrast to other organisations. We are a flexible and fair employer and have strong staff retention with core team members having been with the business for over 8 years. Each month we contract up to 18 people but all are managed by our small but perfectly formed team.


Ben arrived in Jersey in 2003 and established our Gallery magazine title, determined to offer a better quality independent media offering. Holding a degree in Advertising and Marketing Communication and Masters Degree in Marketing, he builds media brands with the emphasis on brand. Ben loves mountains and is fond of penguins (the bird, not the bar).

Russ joined Factory having completed his degree in Graphic Design at The Arts Institute at Bournemouth. Handling the rare combination of a mastery of both words and images, Russ lends his writing skills to his overarching responsibility for design and production scheduling. Russ loves building BMWs of both the 2 and 4 wheel variety.

Ceri joined us in 2008, working her way through roles in distribution and editorial to sales and is now responsible for all commercial client relationship. She oversees sales for all Factory titles, ensuring clients are managed through the sales process in an efficient way. She can often be found walking Roo, her golden Labrador.

Sara manages editorial content for our titles, co-ordinating the creation of features in both copy and content. Sara handles third party relationships with the likes of Genuine Jersey for Appetite and the property industry for Places. A girl of many hats, she also manages our promotional events, utilising her long-standing experience in event management.

The most recent addition to the team, John brings with him the sort of professionalism and work ethic that only a long-standing manager of an agricultural business can. Through Distro, our own distribution brand, John now uses our comprehensive, up-to-date distro list to manage distribution for our titles and third party titles, including the Connect business magazine.
